Our Story

One of Soul Bean owner Ashley Tindall’s very first jobs was working as a barista in a small local coffee shop. It was there that she discovered what would become a lifelong passion for the connection that comes when people get together and share coffee. From that point on, she took a deep dive into learning everything possible about brewing, roasting and crafting unique coffee experiences. She soon realized that she ultimately wanted to be involved in every step of the supply chain from farm to cup, and to be completely transparent, so customers could know the origin story of the coffee, and feel a part of the story themselves. From this early passion the first concept of Soul Bean Coffee Roasters emerged.

Soul Bean quickly developed relationships with coffee farmers in Peru, El Salvador and Columbia, with Soul Bean team members making trips to the farms to work in the fields alongside the famers, and to experience first-hand how much work actually goes into a single cup of coffee. Inspired by the passion, hard work and dedication of the people that own and operate these farms, the team at Soul Bean soon realized that there were possibilities to create mutually beneficial relationships in the industry.  While continuing to directly source its beans, Soul Bean made a commitment to donate a portion of each sales to a women’s organization in Latin America focused on empowering local small businesswomen with their own coffee based businesses.

From connecting to the global coffee community to providing the opportunity of connection and communication between individuals and a cup of amazing coffee, Soul Bean is proud to continue to grow and be a part of the story behind the world’s most amazing, responsibly sourced and carefully curated small batch coffee.

Our Vision

Our vision is to foster a collaborative effort in coffee production, engaging in every step of the process— from farm to cup. Our relationships with coffee growers are ethical and collaborative. Roasting in small batches produces world class flavors and minimizes environmental impact. Through innovative research and development, we continually improve our sustainability by creatively utilizing coffee waste. Mindful of the whole journey our soul beans take, we can provide world class coffee while benefiting the global community.
